Transcript: Zero Fatalities in Iowa

How many lives are killed on America’s roads?

1000’s.

1000’s.

5000-6000.

30,000.

Maybe 1000’s.

25,000.

20,000.

What are the leading causes of vehicle crashes?

Probably texting.

Texting.

Not paying attention.

Probably most of them drunk driving.

Speeding, drunk driving, reckless driving.

Texting and people who have been drinking too much.

Um, I would say careless driving.

Drunk driving, speeding, texting, listening to the radio, talking to passengers.

Everyone says speeding and alcohol, drugs and… teenage driving.

And I would agree with distracted driving also.

How many people killed on Iowa’s roads?

1000 something.

Over a 1000.

500.

Probably 500 or more.

1000 maybe.

500.

A lot, I lost a friend 6 months ago.

What is a good goal for Iowa?

To make it less than a hundred.

The lower hundreds for now, I think I would start with smaller goals then get to larger goals.

1-200.

Not sure maybe a hundred.

Realistically if you could cut it in half to a couple hundred that would be a good goal.

Yeah I think that would be a good baseline.

What is a good goal for your family?

Absolutely none.

Zero. Zero. Definitely.

Zero.

Zero.

Zero.

Zero.

That would be zero of course.

Zero.

Zero.

Zero.

Well, for my family zero.

Should the goal for Zero Fatalities be for everyone?

It should be. It should be yes.

Yes.

I would think so yes.

The goal should be zero yes.

I would hope that would be everyone’s goal, to not have any fatalities on the road.
